Барри Болтон ( англ. Barry Bolton) — английский мирмеколог , крупнейший в мире специалист по классификации, систематике и таксономии муравьев .

Биография

В 1971—2004 годах работал в Британском музее естественной истории ( Лондон ). Член Королевского энтомологического общества Лондона . Известен по своим работам об африканских муравьях и тремя крупнейшими монографиями, в которых дал полный обзор всех муравьев в объеме мировой фауны, включая определитель, каталог видов и новую реклассификацию (1994, 1995, 2003 ). За книгу 1994 года (иллюстрированный определитель родов муравьёв мира) Болтон получил награду в категории биологических наук (1994 Winner of the Professional/Scholarly Publishing Award of the Association of American Publishers, Biological Science Category) .
