Рене́ Лейбо́виц ( фр. René Leibowitz , 17 февраля 1913 , Варшава — 29 августа 1972 , Париж ) — французский композитор , дирижер , педагог , музыкальный теоретик , один из идеологов авангардной музыки .

Биография

Родился в еврейской семье в Варшаве, но с 1926 года жил, в основном, во Франции. Композиции и инструментовке обучался у Антона Веберна и Мориса Равеля , дирижированию — у Пьера Монтё .

С 1937 года выступал с различными оркестрами как дирижёр.

Первым во Франции как дирижёр и музыковед начал популяризировать музыку Новой венской школы .

Сочинения Лейбовица выдержаны в додекафонной технике.

Пробовал трактовать додекафонную систему Шёнберга - Веберна в духе философии экзистенциализма .
