Сью́зан Джи́н Па́лмер ( англ. Susan Jean Palmer ; род 14 апреля 1946 ) — канадский религиовед и социолог религии . Специализируется на исследовании новых религиозных движений . Получила наибольшую известность как автор монографии «Moon Sisters, Krishna Mothers, Rajneesh Lovers: Women’s Roles in New Religions» (1994).

Биография

В 1968 году получила бакалавра гуманитарных наук по английскому языку с отличием в Университете Макгилла .

В 1976 году получила магистра гуманитарных наук по религиоведению и сравнительной этике Университете Конкордия , а в 1992 году там же получила доктора философии по религиоведению.

В 1974 2013 годах — профессор религиоведения в (англ.) в Монреале .

В 1992 2014 годах была преподавателем- , в 1996 2006 годах адъюнкт-профессором , в 2008 2010 годах — научным сотрудником, а в 2011 2016 годах — профессором ( англ. Affiliate Professor ) кафедры религиоведения Университете Конкордия .

В 2013 2016 годах — сотрудник факультета религиоведения Университете Макгилла .

Увлекается игрой на арфе . Училась игре на клавесине и изучала (англ.) в (англ.) и в Университете Макгилла , а также училась игре на арфе в Ирландской музыкальной школе в Сиамса. Её учили играть на кельтской арфе Элисон Киннаирд, Энни Хейманн и Сиобхан Армстронг. Выступала вместе со Scottish Trio и Arisaig Mist.
